Description of Board Positions

President: It shall be the duty of the President to preside over meetings of the board of directors, general member meetings and guild functions. The President will oversee the business of the guild and ensure that the bylaws and rules of conduct are followed. The President is to be elected from the existing board membership with a minimum of 1 year of board service.

First Vice President: It shall be the duty of the First Vice President to assist the President and to preside over the meetings of the board and membership in the absence of the President and to act as chairman of the program committee responsible for providing programs/speakers for general monthly meetings.

Second Vice President: It shall be the duty of the Second Vice President to preside over the meetings of the board and monthly meetings in the absence of the President and the First Vice President, and to secure and arrange meeting locations and logistics for all board meetings, monthly meetings and other functions of the guild.

Secretary: It shall be the duty of the Secretary to keep the records of membership, to record the attendance at board and committee meetings, to record and preserve the minutes of such meetings, to provide minutes to board members prior to next board meeting.

Treasurer: It shall be the duty of the Treasurer to have custody of all funds, accounting for same to the guild annually and at any other time upon demand by the board and to maintain the overall PWG financial records and any other duties as pertain to the office of Treasurer. Additionally, the Treasurer will collect RSVP’s for the regular monthly meetings. Upon retirement from this office, the Treasurer shall turn over to the incoming Treasurer or to the President all funds, books of accounts, and any other guild property.

Director of Professional Development: It shall be the duty of the Director of Professional Development to seek, provide and maintain information for the professional development of members. The Director of Professional Development will plan a minimum of three (3) lunch and learn opportunities for our members.

Director of Membership: It shall be the duty of the Director of Membership to actively pursue new members and educate them as to the ways of the guild, oversee the PWG directory and maintain the member database, and to create name tags for the monthly meetings (both lunches and happy hour events).

Director of Communications: It shall be the duty of the Director of Communications to be responsible for the monthly newsletter, to the guild member site and to send out notices of meetings of the guild.

Director at Large: It shall be the duty of the Director at Large to be responsible for retaining the services of necessary vendors (generally one DJ and one Photographer) for each of our monthly events, as well as collecting the door prizes at each meeting, to oversee the raffle drawings, and to send out surveys at the completion of the event.

Director of Media: It shall be the duty of the Director of Media to update and maintain the website and serve as the point person for domain, website, and email hosting as well as track all social media account passwords.

Immediate Past President: It shall be the duty of the immediate Past President to serve as an advisor (non voting member) to the board of directors and to assist in the transition period.

Requirements: To serve on the board you must be a member in good standing of the Professional Wedding Guild of Fort Worth and to hold the office of President you must have served on the board of directors for a minimum of one year.
